The Law Of Attraction

Law of Attraction

Have you ever heard of the phrase ‘what you think, you become?’ Or have you heard people talking about ‘asking the universe’ or maybe even the term ‘cosmic ordering?’ This may sound like utter rubbish to you and the idea that you can ask for something and you’ll receive sounds downright ridiculous, but please bear with me here JI am going to be talking about the Law of Attraction in this blog and whether you believe in it or not, I am hoping that this blog will enable you to understand why a positive attitude, goal setting, changing your thoughts and being open minded can enhance your life for the better. And who knows, your dreams may even come true?

What is the Law of Attraction?

‘The Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life.’

Wikipedia

The book ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne was what first introduced me to the concept of the Law of Attraction, and I have since read several more books about the power of the thoughts and manifesting. Another author, Denise Duffield Thomas, introduced me to the concept of manifesting and the idea that we could put a request out to the universe (money for example).  I also learnt about the steps we can take to optimise the chances of what we desire becoming reality for us. This starts with our thought processes.

The Power of Your Thoughts and Mindset

‘Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source – you.’

Rhonda Byrne – The Secret.

It is important to recognise how important our thoughts are. There is truth in the saying ‘Positive mind, positive life.’ If we see the negative in everything then this is what we are going to be attracting. Like attracts like so even though sometimes it is hard to maintain a positive outlook when things don’t go right, it is important to try and focus on the good. Positive thoughts result in a higher vibration, paving way for more positive experiences and more opportunities for your dreams to come true.

Dream Big and Goal Setting

‘Your imagination is an extremely powerful tool.’
Rhonda Byrne- The Secret

The first thing to consider is that you really need to allow yourself to dream big! Identify what it is you really want. What you really want is personal to you, and there is no right or wrong answer- just ask the universe for it!  It is a good idea to write what you want down. In a journal, in a diary, on a piece of scrap paper, whichever works best for you. There are lots of books out there about setting and achieving goals, but from a Law Of Attraction perspective, it is a really good idea to get what you want down on paper.

A good time to do this is during a New Moon, where you can write down your wants for the lunar cycle ahead. If you are interested in moon manifesting a brilliant book I recommend is ‘Moonology’ by Yasmin Boland.

Affirmations

The phrase ‘Fake it till you make it’ springs into mind here when talking about affirmations.

Act like whatever you want is happening!  Speak like whatever you want is happening! Affirmations are another blog post entirely, but when working with the Law of Attraction, the use language which is affirmative and confident and so that there is no room for misinterpretation such as ‘I am….’  Find an affirmation that resonates with you and is relevant to what you are trying to manifest or achieve and keep saying it daily.

Vision Boards

‘A vision board is a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of one’s dreams and desires, designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation, and to use the law of attraction to attain goals.’ Wikipedia

The power of being able to see in images what you want to achieve is incredible. This is why vision boards work so well when working with the Law of Attraction. You are putting your visons out there to the universe This is a good thing to do at the start of the year, or you can do it anytime. Basically, get a big piece of paper or card (I used A3), go through some magazines or on the computer, cut out or print off phrases or images which resonate towards your vision and stick them all on the card. Ideas could be career goals. holiday destinations, health goals, positive quotes to live your life by, habits you want to either form or break- anything you want to achieve or do. The vision board itself doesn’t have to be pretty, but once you’ve done it you can keep referring to it and monitoring how far you’ve come.  Ideas of vision boards are available on Pinterest.

Here is my vision board for 2019, there were some things which were important to me, but I was unable to find any pictures or words to express these on paper, so I just wrote the words down.

Side note- I have had ‘Go To New York’ on my vision board for three years now and it still, hasn’t happened………..hurry up universe I’m so ready to go there! 🙂 I also haven’t got around to attending yoga classes yet, as I’ve been focussing on strength training and body combat, but pretty much everything else I’ve achieved so there are a lot of positives to take from this!

Action- Keep Moving Forward!

At this stage it is important to keep your mind open and to keep visualising what it is you want, do not lose sight of this!! Keep moving forward, keep on making those little changes to get closer to where you want to be. Keep taking little steps to raise your vibration with daily gratitude and try distancing yourself from negativity, keep focussing on the good. Celebrate those little wins It is also important to keep imagining yourself having what it is you want.  Keep re-living that daydream. How does it feel? What can you see?

Conclusion

Law of Attraction- Manifestation Summary

  • Decide what it is you wish to manifest- write it down- be specific in terms of what you want and when you want it by.
  • Visualise achieving this- keep on daydreaming and visualising- how does it feel, what do you see etc.
  • Create a vision board.
  • Keep your thoughts positive, stay grateful and take steps to raise your vibration
  • Take daily steps to move forward- the smallest steps can lead to great things.
  • Once you’ve achieved what you wanted, celebrate, be grateful and review the process including lessons learned.

What I’ve learned most from this is the power of your thoughts and beliefs. Whatever it is you wish to manifest, you must have the belief, an open mind and a positive mental attitude. Remember to take small steps and if you don’t achieve what you want straight away, keep on going. And once you’ve achieved what you want? Make sure you celebrate, but also remember to be grateful to thank the universe. Enjoy your abundance and stay humble!

If what it is you wanted doesn’t come to you, it could be because it’s not for your greater good or it might not be for the greater good of someone else. It could be that even better things are heading your way!  It’s important to review, reflect and note down any lessons learned. Also, you could ask yourself ‘what could I do differently next time?’

Do you have any good manifestation stories? I would love to hear from you.

Have a magical month ahead lovelies,

Take care x
